Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc Offers Unprecedented Business Mission to Germany
Canada’s Technology Triangle, Waterloo Region, October 6, 2009 - Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc (CTT) and its partners are offering an exceptional Business and Investment Attraction Mission to Germany from November 22 to 27, 2009 on the theme of Green Energy/Clean Tech. A key area of the mission will focus on Wind Technologies.
“The Business and Investment Attraction Mission is an opportunity for the region's companies interested in Advanced Manufacturing, especially in Clean Technologies such as wind and solar, to see for themselves and learn about the work that the Germans have done to build their companies in this cluster. This is also a favourable time to meet them and to explore opportunities for potential partnerships and other business opportunities,” says John Jung, CEO, Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc.
Participants will benefit from the contacts and experience gained from this trade and investment mission, while assisting CTT in attracting investment, capital and talent to our region.
Germany is among the leading countries in the world in the Green Energy/Clean Tech sector and the Feed-in tariff (FIT) legislation in Germany has made it one of the most successful countries in Europe to promote and execute Green and Clean Technologies. Similar legislation has been promoted in Ontario through the Green Energy Act (GEA) that was enacted on May 14, 2009, making Ontario’s legislation the most advanced in North America. "Ontario's Green Energy legislation and FIT competitively positions itself as a strategic location to attract wind power investment in Canada and as a foothold in the North American Wind Energy market," notes Catharine Gerhard, Business Development Officer, Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc. “The profile of Ontario's manufacturing sector competitively lends itself to supplying specialized wind turbine components to the wind power market.”
Businesses worldwide are focusing on creating a sustainable future. For Waterloo Region there is a benefit to doing business abroad and to collaborate with countries like Germany, which are making leaps toward altering how we see a green and clean environment.
"The backbone of German industry is family owned, medium sized companies known as Mittelstand. They have grown from generation to generation, sometimes re-inventing themselves, but always utilizing the latest technology, engineering and production to maintain global leadership,” says Bill Elliot, Vice President Business Development, Canada’s Technology Triangle Inc. “These companies have much in common with industry in Waterloo Region and indeed this can be traced back to early German heritage. German experience and technology combined with Waterloo Region location, skilled workforce and able business community will enable successful cooperation in the North American Clean Energy market and beyond."
By participating in this business mission you will have the opportunity to benchmark your company and organization against the leaders in the field. This will help companies to plan for the introduction of products and services in the German and European markets, or perhaps explore opportunities for partnership or other trade opportunities.
Whether you are interested in meeting business leads and prospects or simply wish to learn where you fit into the sustainable future that the world is talking about, this business mission is for you.
