Swiss architect Peter Zumthor receives Pritzker Prize

The Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, from Graubuenden in Switzerland, has been named the winner of the 2009 Pritzker Prize, the highest recognition for architects. He is best known for the thermal spa he completed in 1996 for the Hotel Therme http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/offer-About_TopAttractions-Sports-8866.html in Vals, a Swiss Alpine village. Building Therme Vals brought him worldwide fame. Since it’s opening, the place has drawn visitors from across the globe.
